Kennisis Lake Area Information
Kennisis Lake is a lake community in southeast Ontario in beautiful Haliburton County.
Kennisis Lake is just under a three hour drive away from Toronto via the ON-35 S highway. The lake is then accessible through the small town of West Guilford on County Road 7.
The lake itself covers more than 1600 hectares of area, extending nearly 23 kilometres from end to end. This makes it the second largest lake in the Haliburton area and a premiere destination.

History of Kennisis Lake
Kennisis Lake feels like an oasis, but long ago, it was a hidden one.
There were little opportunities to grow anything in the area, and getting in and out of the area was extremely difficult, so it remained untouched until the 1940s when a road was finally built allowing access to the area.
Now, eighty years later, dependable roads and snow removal has allowed the cottage community to flourish for those lucky enough to call Kennisis Lake their home.
